North Hollywood has a dense mix of older apartment buildings, arts-district lofts and small businesses. First Choice Moving & Storage knows the buildings and the parking reality.
Plan Your North Hollywood MoveWe plan North Hollywood moves with attention to older apartment buildings, elevator reservations and the tighter parking that comes with a dense neighborhood.
Tell us both North Hollywood addresses, what's moving and any building or parking constraints. We'll follow up with a plan.
North Hollywood mixes arts-district density with classic Valley streets, so parking and building access shape most moves. Apartment-heavy blocks and busy corridors make advance planning essential.
Much of North Hollywood's housing is apartments and mixed-use buildings. Confirm elevator access, garage clearance, and loading rules with the building first.
Lankershim and Magnolia carry steady traffic, and street parking fills fast. Reserve a truck spot and plan the load for quieter hours of the day.
Metro rail and bus lines bring riders through the neighborhood all day. Watch for no-parking zones near stations and keep the truck clear of bus stops.
Storefronts and residences share many North Hollywood blocks. Coordinate loading so the truck does not block business entrances or delivery areas.
North Hollywood moves range from compact apartments to family homes and creative spaces. Each scenario brings its own parking and access rhythm to the day.
Apartments near the arts district pair elevators with tight street parking. Reserve the elevator and keep the truck spot clear for the entire load-out.
Family homes on the quieter side streets hold full households with garages and backyards. Clear the driveway and coordinate the truck spot with neighbors.
Musicians, artists, and small studios move gear that needs careful handling. Confirm the route, pad the equipment, and plan around business hours.
North Hollywood moves run smoother with a bit of street-level planning. Run through these steps before the crew arrives.
Reserve truck parking and keep the spot clear from the night before the move.
Confirm elevator, garage, and loading rules with apartment management ahead of time.
Check for no-parking and transit zones near the building before choosing the truck spot.
Coordinate loading times so the truck does not block storefronts or business entrances.
Protect floors and stairs with runners from the apartment door to the truck.
Choose the support that fits your move.

The 2 guys that showed up did a good job keeping our stuff from damage. However, I did see both of them taking a break after only working for 45 minutes. One was smoking, the other was in the truck on his cell phone. I wouldn't call them speedy by any means, but our stuff arrived safely for only going 4 miles away. Their paperwork had the wrong destination address so I'm fortunate that I saw the paperwork or they would have ended up in the wrong place.
The moving crew took fantastic care of our stuff during our move. These guys were the ultimate professionals, timing was impeccable and they helped us get everything set up in our new place. We used The packing crew to pack and unpack, and they took great care of all our fragile and bulky items over two days. Saves us hours and hours of time at a very affordable rate. We love First Choice Moving & Storage
I had a really positive experience with First Choice Moving & Storage. From my first phone call with the coordinator to moving day with the crew, I highly recommend their services. The coordinator was very helpful and knowledgeable, and the crew was timely, professional and efficient. My family is very happy with the service we received.
Quick and professional. Would recommend. First downside however is that we requested a wardrobe and mattress cover for our move, and the move team was underprepared by not having those items (after reviewing the mover’s instructions they were not listed by the relocation consultant). My recommendation for anyone using this service is to have the relocation consultant reiterate what items will be provided by the movers, and to specifically have them listed on the “move notes” and not just the “consultant notes” (you will only see these notes when the movers arrive). Second downside was that the movers were late. We were given an arrival time of 8:15-9:15 and they arrived at 9:35.
The crew was the best. We are thankful for them and all their hard work. Couldn’t have done it without them.
The movers themselves were excellent. Very professional and courteous. They even helped us pack up some odds and ends we missed on the inventory sheet. They were contracted from First Choice Moving & Storage. The office staff was overall okay, but they do not do issue resolution well. You are on your own to figure out a solution. Future moves I would coordinate directly with the contracted movers.
